First Time Buyer Stamp Duty Relief: Properties Available
I must have said this 100 times, no wait a 1000 times to anyone that cares to listen, I love the property industry!
Every aspect of it:
- Buying
- Selling
- Investing
- Demolishing
- Restoring
- Decorating
I am not daft.

Yes, I know there are those with absolutely terrible experiences with estate agents, tradesmen, local councils, the list goes on.
What Is Stamp Duty?
But as I am based in the UK, I know I am not alone. I know the whole of the UK and USA are obsessed with property.
Just check out Netflix or your local TV stations and there are at least 3 or 4 programs available to watch about some aspect of property.
I have recently become fixated on first-time buyers and what they can buy under the current £300,000 stamp duty threshold.
Since Covid and Generation Rent, the government wants to boost the property industry and get people moving. So they have given special privileges to first-time buyers.
Now, I currently work within the property industry with buyers and sellers.
I see the whole buying process on a daily basis.
So you would think at the end of my working day, I want to come home and relax with a cuppa to chill out.
Yes, I do, but I have recently started to chill out with a cuppa and my laptop and a Google Chrome page on Rightmove, On The Market, Zoopla as well as many many others.
London: The Great Divide
I want to see what is currently on the market for first time buyers with a budget of £300,000.
I want to see:
- Level of work required
- The maximum amount of bedrooms possible
- Types of building construction available
- Most expensive property
- Cheapest property
- How close to central London you can get
- Property closest to M25 (M25 is a motorway circling the whole of Greater London)
My search is based primarily on London… well, let me be completely honest. My search is based predominantly on South London.

If you are in London, you’ll know, but those that live here will have an area they are fond of and will tend to have their home there, socialise there and build a family there.
Either your South, West, North or East London. The Great Divide is the River Thames!
South London on side of the river, West, North and East London on the other.
I have known many people based in South London that aren’t fond of crossing the river except to work, go shopping or visit friends.
They know where their bread is buttered!
After the activity, they go straight back to the fabulous South.
So I am going to drag you all to the awesomeness of the South and share some cute properties I have discovered on my property surveillance journey.

Ground floor property with outside space and 2 bedrooms. Wow, this is amazing and it’s in excellent decorative order.
Clearly, it pays dividends to move further away from Central London. You get more property for your money.
Will You Conduct Your Own Search?
These properties are just a flavour of the properties that are on the market at the moment.
Will these properties be available tomorrow, next week or next month?
Who knows, the property market is a fickle beast and so unpredictable, all I know is I am busier now than I have been in months.
So these gorgeous dwellings won’t be around for long. But that just means there will be space to view more and more properties.
For me, the search doesn’t ever get old, it’s all about searching and hopefully one day finding my own dream property.
Have you taken advantage of the Stamp Duty Relief? If you did, are you now in your dream home? Was climbing on the property ladder worth it?
I’d love to hear about them in the comments below.
